While going back to school is always a little rough, we’re hoping that this lineup of awesome trips will help soften the blow… This fall we’re bringing you an awesome mix of old and new, with a large selection of trips that the Club’s either never done, or hasn’t done in a very long time.
So, read through it, mark your calendars, get excited, and we’ll see you soon! Per usual, if you have any questions, let us know! We’d be happy to answer them.
And here it is…
Calling all Freshmen! This one’s for you… Join us at Thrillseekers Climbing gym for a day of bouldering, mingling and getting stoked for an awesome fall with DUAC. No experience climbing? No worries! We’ll hook you up with the gear and the basics, all you have to do is show up.
There are 54 peaks over 14,000ft in Colorado… If you’ve got your sites set on summiting all 54, we can help you out with at least one. While the 14er that’ll be climbed is TBD what has been determined, is that this trip will be a blast.
Crested Butte Bike and Hike
Crested Butte has long been a winter quarter Alpine Club classic. This year, we’re mixing it up and heading down to CB for a totally different trip experience. While there might not be saunas and skiing, there will be campfires under the stars, world class mountain biking, and incredible hiking.
Climb time. Colorado is a climbing mecca, and whether you’ve been sending for years or are just trying to dip a toe into the whole climbing experience, this trip is a DUAC staple and member favorite. Join us for a day of climbing at one of the many crags around Denver. No gear? No experience? No problem, we’ll hook you up. Tons of gear? Tons of experience? Bring it, we’ve got something for everyone.
Looking to get out and ride some of Colorado’s amazing mountain biking trails? Perfect… so are we. Come out for an awesome day of riding on some beautiful trails. While you do have to bring your own bike, we’ll provide transportation, entertainment, and an epic day in the mountains.
Sinks Canyon/Lander Multisport
The Alpine Club hasn’t made the pilgrimage to Sinks Canyon and the outdoor mecca of Lander WYO in a coon’s age, so this fall we’re bringing it back. Two days of world famous climbing (this is the home of the International Climbers’ Festival), equally insane mountain biking, and hiking in the-oh so unique Sinks Canyon State Park. Hiking, biking, climbing, laughing and general DUAC shenanigans in the state whose slogan in “Like No Place on Earth?” What more could you ask for…
This one night, one day trip is a new take and an old favorite. We’ll leave campus Friday afternoon, spend Friday night sitting around a campfire having a great time, and spend all of Saturday climbing at the amazing crags of Shelf Road, before heading back to campus Saturday night. All this, and you’ll still have Sunday to do whatever you want with!
This year we’ve decided to combine two of our favorite trips, backpacking and Moab, into one ultimate weekend. So, with that we bring you Backpacking, in Moab! The route is yet to be determined, but we’re sure that it will be packed full of geologic amazingness, gourmet backcountry meals, and oh so much more.
Alrighty guys… There it is! Can’t wait to see you all out there
